Kate MacMaster is...
curious about a great many things...
Hello and Welcome,

My name is Kate MacMaster, and I am the
Founder and Principal Consultant of
Studio Wild.

Studio Wild Consulting is the result of over twenty years of working in the fields of environmental and climate justice; sustainability; aid and development; women's equality, peace and security; security intelligence; and transformational leadership development.

I thrive on bringing people together to consider new, systemic approaches to transformational change for a greater good, whether that is for equality amongst people, or for an ecological sustainable future for all.

I created Studio Wild many years ago, first as a creative brand which then morphed into a specialist consultancy service in 2018 focusing on leadership development; personal and organisational coaching; gender diversity and social inclusion across cultures; community development; human centered design and systems thinking for social innovation; strategic planning; program design and evaluation; soft skills training and group facilitation.

My current focus is to bring a de-colonialist and feminist approach to governance, leadership, thinking, listening and deconstructing. I am enjoying challenging my own mindset and norms around how I am showing up in the world, and deeply thinking about how to enable paradigm shifts in systems - because as we can see and experience in the world right now, there are some fundamentals in democratic systems that are failing us all. What might we do differently, individually and collectively, to tilt the projectory? What else, more, might we learn from our First Nations brothers, sisters and elders, if we truly sat in deep listening to their ways of knowing, being, doing?
If this sounds like something you'd like to chat about with me, I would love a conversation.

When people ask me what I do, I find it a hard question to answer - I do loads of interesting work as a capacity development consultant, some properly paid (Government and private consulting), some not so well (NFP and charity work that I offer at a discount), and much pro bono work both in my local town around climate change awareness and science education, and as previous Board Member and Deputy Chair of WaterAid Australia and Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee, which is work I am HUGELY passionate about.
I have worked in Australia and in dozens of countries across Asia Pacific, designing, implementing & evaluating capacity building and leadership programs for the international aid and development sector, the Australian Environment Movement, the water sector, and the Defence and Intelligence communities. I love what I do and the incredible diversity of passionate people I have been fortunate to work with over the years.

*****
Studio Wild Consulting offers a space (physical and meta) for people to connect with this approach to business - values based, ethical approaches to making the world a tad better place to be for all our kids, plants, animals, land, seas and skies.
Whether you need some assistance with convening critical conversations, strategic planning, human centered design, workshop design and facilitation, community and multi-stakeholder consultation, leadership development, coaching and mentoring, Studio Wild offers can offer these - or if you need something else (or are curious about the icebergs!), just call me for a chat - I'd love to hear from you!
